Arusha City Council constitutes one of the six Local Government Authorities of Arusha Region, which include Arumeru, Monduli, Ngorongoro, Longido and Karatu Districts. Arusha CC is also the Headquarter of Arusha Region located in Northern Tanzania between latitude 20 and 60 South and Longitudes 34.50 and 380 East. Arusha City Council is located 50 Kilometers West of Kilimanjaro International Airport on the great North Road halfway between Cape Town and Cairo and is also 6 km from Arusha Airport. The Arusha City Council aspires to be the best City Council that provide better and Sustainable Services in a Self Sustaining Economy by the year 2025”.
Arusha City Council in collaboration with internal and External Stakeholders, intend to Increase the Capacity of its multicultural community to develop a growing and sustainable economy, social wellbeing and Environmental sustainability through good governance practices”. Among Arusha’s notable districts are the Central Business Area, located by the clock tower; Sekei in the northwest, which is largely residential with a vibrant nightlife; Njiro, a middle-class rapidly growing suburb in the south; and Tengeru, a lively market-town in the east.
