About Korogwe Town CouncilÂ
Korogwe Urban District (or Korogwe Town Council) is one of the eleven districts of the Tanga Region of Tanzania. Korogwe Urban District is bordered to the north by Korogwe Rural District and to the south by Handeni Rural District. The administrative capital of the district is Korogwe town. The Korogwe Town ouncil mission is to provide adequate management and facilitation of potential investments, build capacity for proper delivery of services and other support to ensure sustainable development in the Council.

Korgwe Town Council vision is to build a competitive, strong and sustainable economy, eradicate ignorance and poverty, and provide adequate social services, peace and security through good governance. According to the 2012 Tanzania National Census, the population of Korogwe Urban District was 68,308. Korogwe Town is the second largest urban centre in Tanga Region after Tanga City, and covers an area of 212 square kilometers. With its central location, Korogwe Town is well connected to the rest of Tanga Region, the northern Kilimanjaro and Arusha Regions, and the Coastal and Dar es Salaam Regions to the south.Â
