About Morogoro District Council
Morogoro District Council is one among the 9 Districts in Morogoro Region .The District is located at North East of Morogoro Region between 6º00’ and 8º00’ Latitudes South of Equator also between Longitudes 36º00’ and 38º’ East of Greenwich. It is bordered by Bagamoyo and Kisarawe districts (Coast region) to the East, Kilombero district to the south and Mvomero district to the North and West. The Morogoro District Council mission is To provide high quality socioal economic services to the community through efficient and effective use of resources and good governance for improving living standards.Â
The Morogoro District vision is to have well educated community with better livehood by the year 2020″. As of 2012, the population of the Morogoro Rural District was 286,248. As of 1997, Morogoro Rural District had ten administrative divisions; however, as the number of wards has shrunk from forty-two in 1997 to twenty-five in 2002, it now has six divisions. As of the 2010 elections Morogoro Rural District had no constituencies. The Morogoro-Kusini-Mashariki Constituency is located in Morogoro Urban District. The Morogoro Rural District is administratively divided into twenty-five wards.
