1. How to log into myMAV 

To log into myMAV follow the steps below;

You can log into MyMav using your UTA email address and password by visiting uta.edu/mymav. In addition, you will be prompted to use multi-factor authentication when accessing MyMav from off-campus through a web browser. This also includes accessing MyMav from student housing.

  1. Navigate to uta.edu/mymav.

2. How to search and register for classes in MyMav 2023

 To search and register for classes in MyMav 2023, follow the steps below;

  1. Go to www.uta.edu/mymav and click on “Student Login” under the MyMav title. Then, the “Student Login Here” button will appear. Click on the “Student Login Here” to access MyMav.
  2. Then, sign in using your email address and click “Next.” Then, enter your password and click on “Sign In”. If you forgot your password, visit the UTA NetID Self Service page.
  3. Once logged into MyMav, select the “Manage Classes” title.
  4. On the left menu, select “Class Search and Enroll“. It will display the enrollment term options.
  5. If the system already has an enrollment term selected or you selected the wrong enrollment option, select “Change.” If you do not need to change the enrollment term, skip to “Step 7.”
  6. Once you click “Change,” a pop-up window will display the available enrollment terms. Click the appropriate enrollment option. You can use the arrows to expand and collapse to see additional options. If the appropriate option is already selected, select the “x” in the corner of the box.
  7. Once you exit the change terms options, there are two ways to continue with the enrollment process. 

        Option 1: You can use the “Search for Classes” box to enter keywords, such as course, class name, or topic.

        Option 2: You can also click the “Additional ways to search” link to display the search boxes for “Available Subjects,” “Catalog Number,” and “Instructor Last Name.

     8. In the “Search for Classes” bar, enter a full course number or subject. Examples: Math 1301 or History.

    9. The screen will display the results of a class search. In this example, it displays Math 1301.

    10. CLASS FILTER OPTIONS: Once you enter the search criteria in the fluid class search page, then you can use the filters located on the right to narrow your options. After selecting the filter options appropriate to you, click anywhere in the box under the “View Search Results to move to the course date/time selection.

    11. The available days and times of the course are listed. 

    12. Once you select the class, it will display class details, meeting information, class availability, and textbook/other information. Note, the details also displays the prerequisites for the class. 

    13. The available days and times of the course are listed. Click anywhere in the desired class option to proceed.

    14. You are now in the Enroll portion of the process. Click “Next” in the upper right corner to move to the next step.

     15. If the class is full and you would like to be added to the waitlist, Click on No to change it to Yes. If you have been given a permission number from an advisor, enter the number in the box under that description. After verifying all settings are correct, click “Accept “.

    16. If you are only enrolling in this course, select “Enroll”. If you are needing to enroll in more course, select “Add to Shopping Cart”. Then click “Next” in the upper right corner. Click “Yes” in the pop-up to verify you want to submit this course to your shopping cart.

    17. Once you have all the courses needed in your shopping cart, select the check box next to each course. Then, click “Enroll“. In the pop-up box, click “Yes” to proceed with the enrollment.

3. How to get to your class schedule in MyMav

To get to your class schedule in MyMav, follow the steps below;

  1. Go to www.uta.edu/mymav and click on “Student Login.”
  2. Then, click on “Student Login Here.
  3. The next screen will prompt you to sign in using your UTA email address. After entering your UTA email address, click “Next.” Then, enter your password and click “Sign In.
  4. Once logged into MyMav, the UTA Student Homepage will display Schedule on the left side of the screen. For mobile devices, scroll down. This is a condensed version of the schedule.
  5. To expand the schedule for the entire week, click on the > symbol on the schedule.

4. How to drop or withdraw from your classes

To drop or withdraw from your classes, follow the steps below;

University of Texas at Arlington Students can drop or swap (adding and dropping a class concurrently) classes through self-service in MyMav from the beginning of the registration period through the late registration period. Students dropping their last class on or after the first day of classes must communicate with an academic advisor in the department of their major to make the last class drop (withdrawal). 

After the late registration period, students must contact an academic advisor to drop a class or withdraw. Students who receive an error when attempting to drop or withdraw should contact their academic advisor.

  1. Go to www.uta.edu/mymav and click on “Student Login” under the MyMav title. Then, the “Student Login Here” button will appear. Click on the “Student Login Here” to access MyMav.
  2. Then, sign in using your email address and click “Next.” Then, enter your password and click on “Sign In “.
  3. Once logged into MyMav, select the “Manage Classes” title.
  4. Once you click on Manage Classes, it will display your enrolled classes by class and date. Under the “By Class” section, review the enrollment deadlines listed at the bottom of each class to determine if you want to continue with dropping or withdrawing from your class.
  5. After selecting the enrollment deadline, a pop-up window will display the “Drop Calendar” and “Cancel and Withdraw” section. View the options by clicking on the appropriate section and then, click the “X” to close the box.
  6. After closing the enrollment deadline box, select “Drop Classes” located in the menu on the left side”. Then select the appropriate term in the options listed. 
  7. The screen will display the courses available to drop or withdraw. Click on the box next to the class you wish to drop or withdraw. 
  8. Once you select the courses you would like to drop or withdraw, the Next button will appear on the left side of the screen. Select “Next” to continue with the drop or withdraw process. 
  9. After clicking “Next” to continue the process, review the classes listed to drop or withdraw. Then, click on the green “Drop Classes.”
  10. After clicking the green “Drop Classes” button, confirm that you would like to drop or withdraw from the classes by clicking “YES” or “NO
  11. Once you select “Yes” to drop or withdraw from the selected course, the screen will display a confirmation that your class has been dropped. A green box will temporary show that indicates that the process is completed.

  1. Go to uta.edu/mymav and click on “Student Login”.
  2. Then, click on “Student Login Here.”
  3. The next screen will prompt you to sign in using your UTA email address. After entering your UTA email address, click “Next.” Then, enter your password and click “Sign In.”

1. What is MyMav?

MyMav, UT Arlington's Student Information System, is used to register, pay your bills, accept your financial aid, check your grades, view your degree audit and a host of other functions.

2. Do I need to be logged in to look at the schedule or catalog?

No, you can access the Schedule of Classes, registration timeline, tuition information and resources, and the university catalog on the MyMav login page.

3. How do I register for classes?

To register, go to www.uta.edu/mymav and login into MyMav with your NetID and password. The Schedule of Classes lists all sections offered for the course with time, date, and room information. If you want to see all the available sections for a class, please review the "How to search and register in Classes?" article. 
The Course Catalog Search contains some of the information displayed in the Schedule of Classes except it does not allow you to see the listing of available sections. You can use the Course Catalog Search option to add to your University of Texas at Arlington academic planner.

12. What if I want to choose my classes by meeting time or instructor?

You can use the "Filter" and "Additional Search Criteria" options will allow you to select classes by the meeting time, day of week, instructor, location, course title, and other options.

13. How do I find Winter Intersession or Summer Intersession classes?

You can select Winter or Summer Intermission classes by using the "class filter" options.

14. How can I tell which courses are distance education classes?

19. How do I determine if I meet a course prerequisite?

Students who do not successfully complete the prerequisite in the current term will be dropped from the next-level course when grades are final. Prerequisite information is located in MyMav.

20. I am not able to register, and I received a message. What do I need to do?

Message: Department Consent Required
This message indicates that you need permission from the department that is offering the class in addition to being cleared by your University of Texas at Arlington academic advisor. For example, if you are majoring in CSE and trying to register for a Spanish class, you will need to see the Modern Languages department to get permission specifically to register for the Spanish class.
Message: You do not have access to enrollment at this time. Please see your academic advisor.
Check the registration timetable and make sure that your enrollment period has started. If it has, contact the Office of the Registrar at 817-272-2011. If it is beyond the late registration period, you will need to contact your academic advisor.

21. I can't view my class schedule?

If you want to view your classes after you register for classes for the upcoming term such as Spring term then go to "Manage Classes Tile" and pick "View My Classes".  Then pick the appropriate term such as 2020 Spring. The classes you are enrolled in will show up.

22. I changed my name. How do I go about updating my name in MyMav?

If you have officially changed your name, visit University of Texas at Arlington webpage on Name Changes to find out what you need to do. Once your name is updated in MyMav, contact the IT Help Desk to get your name changed in other systems such as self-service, e-mail, etc. at 817-272-2208, submit a self-service ticket, or visit them on the first floor of the Central Library.


23. Why do I have to take a Math Aptitude Test?

The Math Aptitude Test helps us determine which math courses a student is ready to enter at UT Arlington. For instance, while students may have taken Calculus in high school that may not necessarily mean that he/she is ready for Calculus at UT Arlington, University of Texas at Arlington . You need to contact the Math department at 817-272-3261, and they will give you the information you need.


24. Why do I need to contact the International Office about insurance? I am not classified as an international student.

University “MavMail” address as the sole official means of communication with students. MavMail is used to remind students of important deadlines.
New students can access their mavmail email approximately 24-48 hours after their university status updates to "active" from "applicant."

Your NetID and password allow you to login to student email and other UTA applications including MyMav and email.
