1. How to log into mymmu
To log into mymmu follow the steps below.
- To access mmu portal; first navigate to my.mmu.ac.uk.
- Click on University member.
- On the log in page, enter your student email and password to log in

2. Changing your MyMMU password
2.1 I’ve forgotten my mmu password
Already registered for the new Self Service Password Reset portal?
  1. Go to link: reset-password.mmu.ac.uk
  2. Type in your MMU ID in the format:
- Â Staff: [email protected]
- Students: [email protected]
  3. Enter the characters in the picture.
  4. Choose which verification method you wish to use.
  5. You will then receive a code via your chosen verification method, enter this code when prompted.
  6. Choose a new password that complies with the password rules.
Don’t forget – You’ll need to update your details on your mobile device(s) to access MMU Wi-Fi or email.
2.2 I know my password, but want to change it
There are 2 methods for changing your password. MMU recommends Self-Service Password Reset.
Self Service Password Reset
This is the easiest way to manage your password and allows you to reset your password yourself even if you’ve forgotten it.
To register:
  1. Go to link: register-password.mmu.ac.uk
  2. Type in your MMU ID in the format:
- Staff: [email protected]
- Students: [email protected]
  3. Provide 2 preferred methods of security information for verification.
    This will be used to send you a code when you want to reset your password.
To reset your mymmu password:
  1.Go to link: change-password.mmu.ac.uk
  2. Type in your MMU ID in the format:
- Staff: [email protected]
- Students: [email protected]
  3. Enter your current password again
  4. Choose a new password that complies with the rules below.

2.3 My mmu password has expired
Student passwords need to be reset every 12 months, and staff passwords need to be reset every 24 months. The reason for this difference is that the password requirements are slightly different.
MMU will send you reminders in the days leading up to your password expiry date, and it is recommended that you reset your password before that date.
If your password has already expired, you won’t be able to log in until you reset it:

It is recommended to manage student emails via MyMMU – the one-stop shop for managing your studies at Manchester Met.
4. Managing emails with MyMMU
- Open the MyMMU app on your phone or tablet or go to my.mmu.ac.uk.
- Log in using your University ID and network password.
- Click the Email button to go directly to your University email account.
If you are unable to access MyMMU you can manage your student emails at office365.mmu.ac.uk.
Office 365 provides all the productivity applications you’ll need for an efficient and effective University experience.
Everyone currently studying and working at Manchester Met can use Office 365 online and download it on up to 5 devices.
5. How do I log in to Office 365?
On joining the University your Office 365 account will already have been created.
You should already have a University ID and network password. You’ll be using this information to log in to Office 365 where you can use all the applications online or download them to your devices (all Office 365 applications are already installed on University PCs).
6. Logging into Office 365 online
Staff and students use their Manchester Met ID and password when logging into Office 365.
  1. Go to office365.mmu.ac.uk.
  2. When prompted to log in, enter your username in the following format, and your university password:
- Staff: [email protected], eg. [email protected].
- Â Students: [email protected], eg. [email protected].
7. Install Office 365 apps on your personal computer
Download Office 365 ProPlus if you’re planning to work offline on your computer.
  1. Go to office365.mmu.ac.uk.
  2. When prompted to log in, enter your username in the following format, and your university password:
- Staff: [email protected], eg. [email protected]
- Students: [email protected], eg. [email protected]
  3. Select the cog icon at the top right of the page
  4. Select Office 365 Settings > Software
  5. Choose the Download button
  6. Run the downloaded file and follow the on-screen instructions
  7. Stay connected to the internet and leave Office to install in the background. The time taken for the installation will depend on your internet connection. Be patient and don’t log off or shutdown your computer before this process is complete
  8. When prompted to log in enter your MMU ID number and your network password in the same format as above.
