What do I do if a course I want is closed?

All courses have a limit on the number of students who can enroll. Popular or required courses often close early in the registration process. If you attempt to register for a class that has reached its maximum enrollment limit, MyFau Self-service will present you with the option to place yourself on the waitlist. Just click the Action box and choose "Wait Listed" then click on the Submit Changes button.

How do I find out my appointment time to register for courses?

Students can register as early as months prior to classes and as late as the first week of classes. Your appointment time is based on your seniority level at the University. Check the Advance Registration Schedule located on our web site at  https://www.fau.edu/registrar/registration/schedule.php .

What is DARS?

The Degree Audit Reporting System (DARS) produces a report reflecting academic progress toward completion of an undergraduate degree in your declared or proposed major. 

The DARS report, or degree audit, shows how your FAU courses, transfer courses, and courses in progress apply toward degree requirements. The Degree Audit Report is an internal document. It should be used as a tool to assist you and your adviser in planning your future coursework. It is not an official certification of your academic record.

FAU Registration Schedule

1. Advanced registration for Intersession and Spring 2023 will be available starting October 31, 2022 at 10 PM.
2. Registration times are based on earned credit hours (excluding in-progress courses) and special group designations.
3. Prior to your registration date:

• Be sure you are able to access Self Service .
• Check for any Holds that may prevent registration.
• Review the Degree Audit Reporting System (DARS) for your degree requirements.

    4. For important Drop/Add, Last Day to Pay, and Last Day to Withdraw for the current semester, please refer to the Academic Calendar.

How do I add and drop courses?

Drop/add is the period of time in which students may add or drop courses without incurring a fee and without receiving a 'W' on their transcript for dropped courses. Typically, the Friday of the first week of the full semester is the last day for schedule adjustments, but refer to the Academic Calendar , as the last day for the drop/add period varies depending on the part of term in which the course is being offered (Intersession, First 5-Weeks, First Half, etc.). Drop/add dates for each part of term are listed on the Academic Calendar .

If you are adding or dropping courses after drop/add has ended, please refer to the " How do I make schedule adjustments after drop/add ends? " subsection of this page.

 Once you are ready to add or drop a course, select the "Click here for registration" button and "Register for Classes."
